The Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) is pleased to announce the appointment of several members to serve in various committees, namely: The Constitutional Review Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Awards Committee, and Editorial Board. We are particularly pleased to appoint the Association’s former Vice President, Mohamed L. Bah Esq. as Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee, alongside former President and BBC stringer, Mohamed Fajah Barrie, who will serve as Vice Chairman. This Committee is tasked with reviewing specific sections of the SWASAL Constitution in alignment with the Constitution of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), among other relevant frameworks. Veteran sports journalist and current Permanent Secretary, Kwame Yankson, has been appointed Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, with long-serving former Secretary General Sorie Ibrahim Sesay as Vice Chairman. The Committee is mandated to uphold the SWASAL Code of
Ethics and oversee all matters relating to discipline. The newly constituted Awards Committee will be chaired by experienced sports journalist and entertainer, Abu Bakarr Kanu, while the Editorial Board will be headed by seasoned editor, Sayoh Kamara.
