Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has on Wednesday April 22 2026 commenced the search for new head coach of the Sierra Leone senior national team, Leone Stars following a vacancy announcement.
The search comes few weeks after the dismissal of former Leone Stars skipper and Inter- Milan forward, Mohamed Kallon and according to the SLFA release, they are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to take charge of the team’s technical direction and performance in all international matches and engagements.
Key responsibilities for the new head coach will include team selection, match preparation, tactical leadership, and the organisation of training camps in close collaboration with the SLFA Technical Department.
Applicants must hold a CAF A License, UEFA Pro License, or an equivalent FIFA-recognised coaching qualification. The SLFA requires a minimum of five to ten years of experience at senior level, preferably with a national team or top-tier club.
According to SLFA, interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, copies of relevant coaching qualifications, and at least two professional references to the SLFA General Secretary in Freetown or via the official email addresses that was provided with the application deadline tagged for 12 May 2026. The SLFA said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
