Middlesbrough boss, Kim Hellerg said he felt desperately sorry for Alex Bangura after the left-back suffered yet another injury blow and was forced off at Swansea clash and could miss Saturday’s game against Portsmouth.
Bangura featured in eight of Hellberg’s first nine games in charge but was then sidelined for two months through injury. After his return, he was handed a place in the starting XI at Swansea and scored Boro’s opener before conceding a penalty and over 10 minutes before the break he was forced off with injury.
Hellberg said: “It’s too early to say [how serious the injury is] but of course he is distraught. “You go out after being injured, you go back and do those 25 minutes, you’re looking like a Roberto Carlos left-back again and it’s tough. I feel very sorry for him. He’s a brilliant boy and a brilliant footballer. Hopefully it’s not that bad.”
